The End of the Beginning

My name is Rachael, and I have just received my undergraduate degree as a Spanish and International Relations major at UC Davis, with a focus on environmental health. For the past four years, I’ve studied government, history, environmental science and policy, French and Spanish in order to navigate onto my desired life path.

My conclusion?

I still have no idea what in the WORLD I want to do.

But I know who I want to be and what I want to see, so I’m taking that little knowledge and running with it on a post-grad adventure to South America. Beginning in July, I’ll be studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a month, and from there, country-hopping over to Peru to stay with Christian, my roommate and “hermanito”  from when I lived in Barcelona. My friend Maddie {and I’m crossing my fingers my friend, Lauren, too!} will be joining me there and we’ll conquer Macchu Picchu together.

My ultimate goal is to find a job teaching English or working at a hostel in Peru, and staying there for a few months. As of now, I do have a return ticket home {mostly because my mom was too freaked out to let me go without one}, but I’m planning on rescheduling my return for later down the road.

I have had the best college experience and I honestly would not have done anything differently. However, after being in school for my entire life, I’m ready to get out there and change my life on my own terms. Make myself uncomfortable. LIVE.

Wander with me. Follow me through this blog as I record the good, the bad, and the ugly of my adventures.

Hey – I am an undergraduate student from Ohio State, studying in Buenos Aires for six months. I just arrived and I would love to talk to you (we have similar majors – I’m also a double). No worries – we’ll figure it out, right?

Hey Allison! Thanks for commenting and visiting my blog 🙂 I’m only here for a bout two more weeks until I head off to Peru, but am living in Palermo. If you want to grab a café con leche just let me know anytime!

I love your blog. You probably have noticed by the amount of “like”s (spam) that you’ve received from me. I’m all caught up now and I can’t wait to read more!
